Too Wet For Comfort;21 Days of Continuous Rains Worry Farmers

Farmers in Mazabuka, Monze and Namwala are raking their brains over the possible loss of crop following 21 days of continuous rainfall. The farmers are afraid that the rains may destroy their crops and leach the soils.  In Mazabuka areas affected include Nega-Nega, Nansenga and Nameembo. The most affected are Soyabeans fields.  In Monze, Chona area is the most affected. Two farmers under the Lima Credit Scheme in Chona have had their crops completely Swept away leaving most feeder roads damaged and impassable.
