Farmers in Chisamba cannot work without ever looking over their shoulders following the farm robbery that occurred in the area during the week where the bandits snatched K25 million from a named farmer. The farming community, especially those that are being paid by FRA, are living in constant fear of being attacked. Farmers who were met by the Regional Manager at Chisamba Zambia National Commercial Bank have called on government to find a lasting solution to the challenges of maize marketing, such as; frequenting banks to check for payments as well as queuing for payments almost the whole day. The farmers have called upon government to put in place quick and effective payment modalities that will lessen long hours spent on queues, which expose them to criminals who follow them after transacting at the banks.
