The Agribusiness Chamber members held their meeting on 30th August 2012 at the ZNFU Head office. The well attended meeting was designed to discuss among other issues, recent developments in the economy as they affect the agribusiness chamber. Some of the issues highlighted in the meeting included the difficulties that have arisen when trading with Congo DR since SI 33 was put in place. It was also observed that exporting earning companies were now opting to import goods directly from their export earnings instead of sourcing them locally. Further the meeting discussed the modalities for agribusiness chamber to participate in the ZNFU Lima Credit Scheme. Agribusiness chamber members also expressed disappointment over the e-voucher system as there were signals that it may not be implemented in the pilot districts.
Meanwhile, Agribusiness chamber members had positioned themselves to participate based on communication issued by Government. At the same meeting, it was expected that the Minister of Commerce Trade and Industry Hon. Robert Sichinga was going to meet the members; but the Minister did not show up as he was reportedly delayed at another meeting
